I've reviewed hundreds of agency portfolios and shipped 50+ products with the team at 925Studios. One pattern holds when founders hire an LLM product design agency: they pick on a beautiful chat screen, then find out three months later that nobody designed what happens when the model is wrong. This list fixes that. I've ranked 8 agencies on the four things that decide the outcome: strategic depth, LLM interface fluency, process transparency and demonstrable business impact.

Last updated 1 November 2026 by Mohammad Yusuf, Lead Designer at 925Studios. 925Studios is ranked first here, and I've written plainly about where we're the wrong choice. No agency paid to be listed.

TL;DR:

  • LLM products are judged on their worst answers. The agencies worth hiring design uncertainty, correction and empty states, not only the happy path.

  • Entry prices vary more than quality does. Options start near $2,780 a month or $4,000 for a scoped phase, while senior AI SaaS specialists list $50,000+ project minimums.

  • Stage decides the shortlist more than style. Seed teams need speed and one partner across product and site; enterprise programmes need research depth and multimodal range.

  • Ask for shipped AI work. A concept deck for a chatbot proves far less than a live product with real users and visible failure states.

Shortlist:

  • 925Studios: best for seed to Series A AI SaaS teams that need the LLM interface, the marketing site and the design system from one team, starting at $4,000

  • Lazarev.agency: best for funded AI SaaS and data platforms with a $50,000+ budget that need dense model output made readable

  • MetaLab: best for well-funded consumer AI products where interface polish is the brand

  • Punchcut: best for enterprise AI programmes that span voice, screens and connected devices

  • Fuselab Creative: best for AI dashboards in regulated sectors such as health, government and finance

  • Neuron: best for adding generative AI to established B2B workplace software

  • Goji Labs: best for AI MVPs that need design and engineering under one contract

  • Taqwah: best for early AI startups that want a dedicated designer on a monthly plan at a low entry price

How this list was built

AI concept: How this list was built

I started from roughly 30 agencies that AI search engines and buyers' shortlists name for AI and LLM interface work, then kept only firms with named AI client work on their own site or in an awards archive. For each one I checked live case studies, published pricing or Clutch minimums, team size, founding year and the type of AI product they have shipped. Agencies with no verifiable AI client work were cut, and so were firms we compete with directly. Prices come from each agency's site or Clutch profile as of November 2026. 925Studios is ranked first because this is our list and our niche; no agency paid for placement.

Which LLM product design agencies are worth shortlisting in 2026?

1. 925Studios

Specializes in: LLM product interfaces for funded AI SaaS teams: prompt and input design, streaming and loading states, confidence and source display, correction flows, plus the marketing site in Framer and the design system both sit on.

Best for: Seed to Series A AI teams that want one partner for the product, the site and the system, and want to see work every 24 to 48 hours instead of at a fortnightly review.

Starting budget: 925Studios engagements start at $4,000. Retainers and fixed-scope projects are both quoted against scope.

Notable clients: Arentha, which is building a persistent intelligence layer for AI; Cerebria, an AI SaaS product where a 6-week MVP design covered the website, lead workflows and the INKY assistant; and Offa, an AI marketplace matching about 10,000 buyers against 500,000+ properties.

Watch for: We are the wrong pick if you need one partner to build and run your production codebase, or a 10-person embedded team for a Series C programme. With a team of 9 to 15 we take on a handful of clients at a time, so start dates can move.

2. Lazarev.agency

Lazarev.agency

Specializes in: AI product UX for B2B platforms, with a stated focus on making complex model output feel simple. Its AI page shows Accern, an AI research product for analysts and investors that the agency says powered $40M growth and an acquisition.

Best for: Funded AI SaaS and data-heavy platforms that already know their core workflow and have budget for a senior team.

Starting budget: Clutch lists a minimum project of $50,000+ and an average rate of $100 to $149 an hour. Earlier Clutch snapshots listed a higher floor, so confirm the current number on a call.

Notable clients: Accern, Pika AI (AI search) and VTnews.ai, which the agency says reached 85,000 users in its first month.

Watch for: The floor rules out most pre-seed teams, and the process suits a product with a defined vision more than one still searching for its core interaction.

3. MetaLab

MetaLab

Specializes in: Product and brand design for technology companies since 2006, with a dedicated AI practice. D&AD's archive credits MetaLab with Suno's brand and product design, including the mobile creation flows that made AI music feel approachable.

Best for: Well-funded consumer AI products where the interface itself has to carry the brand.

Starting budget: MetaLab publishes no pricing on its own site. Budget for a top-of-market engagement and ask for a scoped estimate early.

Notable clients: Suno and, from its earlier years, Slack. MetaLab's AI page also cites the original interface of a leading prompt-to-image service.

Watch for: No public pricing or minimum makes early budgeting hard, and the engagement model is built for companies that already have funding to match.

4. Punchcut

Punchcut

Specializes in: Human-centred design for intelligent products across mobile, web, enterprise software and connected devices, from a San Francisco studio with more than two decades of client work.

Best for: Enterprise and growth-stage companies whose AI product spans voice, screens and physical touchpoints.

Starting budget: Not disclosed on its site. Expect an enterprise engagement and request a scoped proposal.

Notable clients: Its homepage names industries rather than clients (finance, automotive, health, entertainment, consumer technology). Its Punchcut Labs research produced Tomo, a learning digital assistant, in 2023.

Watch for: With no public client list or pricing, you will need references before you commit, and the model is heavier than a seed team needs for a first LLM release.

5. Fuselab Creative

Fuselab Creative

Specializes in: AI dashboards, data visualisation and enterprise UX from McLean, Virginia, founded in 2017. Named work includes the interface for Grid.ai's machine learning platform and a clinical AI dashboard for ClyHealth built around one recommendation per workflow step.

Best for: AI products in regulated sectors where audit trails, permissions and data density shape the interface as much as the model does.

Starting budget: Directory listings show $25,000+ minimums and $100 to $149 an hour. Fuselab itself says it is usually not a fit when the deciding factor is the lowest hourly rate.

Notable clients: Grid.ai, ClyHealth, California DHCS (Medi-Cal data platform) and Fiserv.

Watch for: Regulated and public-sector depth is the strength, which means less public work on consumer, growth-led AI apps.

6. Neuron

Neuron

Specializes in: UX for enterprise software with a named AI service: designing AI products and embedding generative AI into existing platforms. San Francisco headquarters with offices in Los Angeles, New York and Boston.

Best for: B2B teams adding generative AI to workplace software that thousands of employees already use.

Starting budget: Clutch lists $25,000+ minimums and $150 to $199 an hour, with a 5.0 rating across 51 reviews.

Notable clients: Vendr, AcuityMD, Paycom and Listrak.

Watch for: Its published case studies lean towards established B2B platforms, so an LLM-native startup should ask to see net-new AI product work.

7. Goji Labs

Goji Labs

Specializes in: Product design and engineering under one roof in Los Angeles, with an AI implementation service that matches LLM capabilities and infrastructure to the use case. The agency reports 300+ products launched.

Best for: Founders who want an AI MVP designed and built by one contracted team.

Starting budget: Clutch lists $25,000+ minimums and $100 to $149 an hour; reviewers most often report $50,000 to $199,999 projects.

Notable clients: Kabata, Mural and k-ID.

Watch for: If you already have engineers, paying for a blended design and build team can cost more than hiring design alone.

8. Taqwah

Taqwah

Specializes in: AI and SaaS product design on a monthly specialist model, with front-end builds in React, Vue or Next.js and an audit service for products built with AI tools such as Lovable or v0.

Best for: Early AI startups that want a dedicated designer each month without a large project fee.

Starting budget: Its pricing section lists $2,780 a month for one specialist, and directories show $25 to $49 an hour. Its FAQ quotes a slightly different monthly figure, so confirm in writing.

Notable clients: Propulso, which turns voice notes into client proposals, and Rolling Record, which turns meeting transcripts into summaries and actions.

Watch for: The AI case studies are newer and smaller than those of the enterprise firms above, so ask for work closest to your use case.

What should an LLM product design agency actually deliver?

AI concept: Which LLM product design agencies are worth shortlisting in 2026?

An LLM product design agency earns its fee in the moments when the model is uncertain, slow or wrong. People are already using AI but do not trust it: 66% of people use AI regularly, yet only 46% are willing to trust AI systems, and 66% rely on AI output without checking its accuracy (KPMG and University of Melbourne, 2025). That gap is a design brief. A strong agency designs how confidence and sources appear next to an answer, how a user edits or rejects output in one move, what the screen shows while a response streams, and what happens when the model has nothing useful to say. It also plans where a person reviews output before it reaches a customer. Ask every agency on your shortlist to show these states in a shipped product, not a concept. A portfolio of polished chat windows says little about how the product behaves on its worst answer.

The trust figures come from the KPMG and University of Melbourne global study on trust in AI, and they match what we see in usability sessions: people use the feature, then quietly stop believing it.

When we design LLM interfaces for clients at 925Studios, the first workshop is about the bad answer, not the good one. We map where the model can fail, what the user loses when it does, and the single move that gets them back on track. Our breakdown of AI interfaces that earn trust shows how products like Perplexity, Notion AI and GitHub Copilot handle sources, suggestions and edits.

Users rarely judge the model. They judge the moment it gets something wrong: whether they can see why, fix it in one move and keep working.

Mohammad Yusuf, Lead Designer at 925Studios

Our honest take: a chat box is not an AI product. Most agency pitches for LLM work show a polished conversation window, and almost none show the empty state, the timeout, the hallucinated citation or the edit flow. Those screens decide whether a user comes back on day two, so they belong in the first sprint, not the last.

How much does an LLM product design agency cost in 2026?

LLM product design agencies in 2026 fall into three price bands. Entry options start around $2,780 a month for a single dedicated designer (Taqwah) or $4,000 for a scoped first phase (925Studios, quoted against scope). Mid-market specialists such as Fuselab Creative, Neuron and Goji Labs list $25,000+ minimums on Clutch with hourly rates between $100 and $199. Senior AI SaaS specialists such as Lazarev.agency list $50,000+, while MetaLab and Punchcut publish no pricing and are usually engaged for larger programmes. The figure that matters is the cost of reaching a usable first release, so compare scopes, not floors. A $25,000 project that covers discovery, the core LLM workflow and failure states can be better value than a cheaper retainer that ships screens without them. Ask each agency what the first four to six weeks deliver, and who on their team will do the work.

How do you choose an LLM product design agency for your product?

AI concept: What should an LLM product design agency actually deliver?

Most generative AI projects stall after launch, and the interface is part of the reason. MIT's Project NANDA found that 95% of organisations saw no measurable return from generative AI, and its authors pointed to brittle workflows and tools that do not learn from use rather than weak models (MIT Project NANDA, 2025). For a startup building an LLM-powered product, that shifts what to ask of a design partner. The agency should design the feedback loop: how a user flags a bad answer, how corrections are captured, and how the product shows that it improved. It should design for the workflow around the model, so the AI saves a real step instead of adding one. When an agency talks only about chat layouts and visual style, it is designing the demo, and the demo is rarely what decides whether customers renew.

The 95% figure comes from coverage of MIT's GenAI Divide report, which separates the few organisations getting value from the many that are not.

Start with stage. A seed team testing its first LLM workflow needs a partner that can redesign the core loop twice in a month without a change request. A Series B platform adding AI to a product with thousands of daily users needs research capacity and a design system that survives a large engineering team. Then check fit: consumer AI, B2B workflow tools, regulated dashboards and multimodal hardware each reward different portfolios.

If you are comparing a wider set of studios beyond LLM interfaces, our list of AI product design agencies that work with LLMs daily covers more names, and our founder's guide to AI product design explains what to brief before you talk to any of them.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does an LLM product design agency do?

An LLM product design agency designs the screens and flows around a large language model: how users ask, how answers stream in, how confidence and sources show, and how people correct or reject output. Good agencies also design onboarding that teaches what the AI can and cannot do. The deliverable is a product people trust on its worst answer, not only its best one.

Which agencies design interfaces for AI and LLM tools?

Agencies with shipped LLM interface work in 2026 include 925Studios, Lazarev.agency, MetaLab, Punchcut, Fuselab Creative, Neuron, Goji Labs and Taqwah. They differ most on budget, from about $2,780 a month at the low end to $50,000+ minimums and unpublished enterprise pricing at the top. Match the agency's past AI work to your product type before comparing price.

What should a startup building an LLM-powered product look for in a design agency?

Look for a shipped AI product in the portfolio with visible failure, loading and correction states, not only polished hero screens. Check that the people in the pitch are the people who will design your product. Ask how the agency handles model changes mid-project, since prompts and outputs shift as you iterate.

Is a UX design agency worth it for an AI wrapper startup?

Yes, when the product competes on workflow rather than on the model, which is true of most wrappers. If several products call the same model, the interface, onboarding and correction flows are what users compare. A focused first phase, such as a 6-week MVP design, is usually enough to test that before committing to a retainer.

How much does LLM product design cost in 2026?

Expect about $2,780 a month for a single dedicated designer at the entry end, $4,000 for a scoped first phase at 925Studios, $25,000+ minimums at mid-market specialists, and $50,000+ at senior AI SaaS agencies. Larger firms such as MetaLab and Punchcut do not publish pricing. Compare what the first release includes, not only the floor.

How long does it take to design an LLM product MVP?

Most focused LLM MVP design engagements run 6 to 12 weeks. Cerebria's MVP design at 925Studios took 6 weeks and covered the website, lead workflows and its AI assistant. Timelines stretch when the core use case is still changing, so lock the main workflow before design starts.

How is conversational AI UX different from regular product UX?

Conversational AI output is probabilistic, so the same question can produce different answers and some will be wrong. The design has to show uncertainty, cite sources, make editing easy and recover from bad responses without losing the user's work. Regular UX can assume a button does the same thing every time; LLM UX cannot.

What makes 925Studios different from other LLM product design agencies?

925Studios designs the LLM product, the Framer marketing site and the design system as one system, so the three never drift apart, and clients see work every 24 to 48 hours. Its AI work includes Cerebria, where a 6-week MVP design covered the product and its AI assistant. Engagements start at $4,000, quoted against scope. It is not the right fit if you need a partner to build and run your production codebase.

Recap:

  • The right partner is set by your stage and budget first; visual taste comes second.

  • Ask every agency for a shipped AI product and its failure states before you compare prices.

  • Budgets range from about $2,780 a month to $50,000+ minimums, and the biggest firms keep pricing private.

  • Design the feedback loop around the model, because that is where most generative AI projects lose their return.

Choosing an LLM product design agency comes down to stage, budget and the kind of AI work you need. Seed and Series A teams that need the product interface, website and design system moving together are best served by a compact senior studio such as 925Studios, which starts at $4,000 and is quoted against scope. Funded AI SaaS platforms with $50,000+ budgets can look at Lazarev.agency. Consumer AI products that live or die on polish point to MetaLab, and enterprise multimodal programmes to Punchcut. Regulated dashboards fit Fuselab Creative, AI features inside established B2B software fit Neuron, and teams that want design and engineering together fit Goji Labs. If the budget is tight and you need a designer every month, Taqwah is the lowest entry point on this list. Whichever you pick, ask to see the failure states of a shipped AI product before you sign.

Most AI products look identical. 925Studios designs AI interfaces founders actually want to ship. Not the same generic chat UI.
